The museum aims to be a tribute to the vocation of a land and the symbiosis established between it and its people. Since the Middle Ages, in fact, the chestnut was among the fundamental foods of mountain populations and represented one of the few products that animated a rustic and poor economy. Special for its characteristics, very sweet and large-sized, unique to these latitudes, it has conquered national and international markets and, today as in the past, carefully cultivated with seasoned passion, it nurtures an original gastronomic tradition. Tools, photographic material, ancient texts: everything on display testifies to the existence of a true civilization with very ancient origins that survives today, more flourishing than ever, using different cultivation techniques but with the same spirit of respect for Nature.
