The House Museum is located on the first floor of Renato Serra’s birthplace (1884-1915) and is the headquarters of the Renato Serra Foundation, a non-profit cultural organization established in Cesena in 2005.
The museum was created and financed by the Municipality of Cesena with the support of the Banca di Cesena and hosts, besides Serra’s memorabilia and original period furnishings, some works by Cesena, Romagna, and Italian artists among the most significant of the 19th and 20th centuries: Anselmo Gianfanti, Vittorio Matteo Corcos, Paolo Grilli, Fortunato Teodorani, Gino Barbieri, Augusto Casalboni, Caterina Baratelli, Giannetto Malmerendi, Leonardo Castellani.
Renato Serra is authoritatively regarded by today’s critics as a paradigm of our modernity. The House Museum is a place of memory and imagination, representing in its nuances the modern face of the city of Cesena.
