Conegliano

A walk in Contrada Granda, in the center of Conegliano, is recommended. The town is known in Italy and throughout the world for the fame given to it by its great painter Gian Battista Cima (1459-1518), for the first Enological School established in Italy (1876), and especially for Prosecco Docg. A curiosity. In 1574, during the passage of Henry III, King of Poland, who was traveling to Paris to be crowned King of France, the community of Conegliano made the white wine from the hills flow for an entire day from the Neptune fountain, a tradition that has been repeated on important occasions. The book “Conegliano con il gusto in bocca e gli occhi all’insù,” published by Club Magnar Ben, collects anecdotes and enogastronomic curiosities of this authentic Venetian gem for a journey into the taste and history of the “Urbs Picta,” the painted city.

Ca’ del Poggio Restaurant and Resort in San Pietro di Feletto

Postcard landscape at Ca’ del Poggio Restaurant and Resort in San Pietro di Feletto. From the terrace, you can enjoy a breathtaking view of the Prosecco hills. The outdoor Jacuzzi is a must-try. If you’re lucky and the sky is clear, you can catch a glimpse of the bay of Trieste and Istria. The slogan “Where Prosecco meets the sea” is spot on: the palate of guests of the Stocco family is indeed delighted by seafood cuisine that has now gained the attention of the most discerning gourmets. Well known in the sports community (the 2009 and 2013 editions of the Giro d’Italia passed over the Wall of Ca’ del Poggio), the hotel offers special services to cyclists such as electric bicycles and tailor-made holiday packages.

Restaurant Al Capitello di Tarzo

The ideal place to enjoy the authentic flavors of Venetian cuisine is the Restaurant Al Capitello di Tarzo, professionally managed by Tiziano Poloni and his wife Fiorella. In the suggestive setting of an ancient “canevon” (cellar), the venue is a charming green corner with its outdoor garden where you can spend pleasant moments enlivened by the fresh air of the hills of the Alta Marca Trevigiana. Near the small stream, you can still breathe the atmosphere of the characteristic peasant courtyard. The managers are both passionate gatherers of wild herbs and mushrooms and love to entertain their guests with tales of their latest harvest of honey mushrooms, russulas, brittlegills, golden spindles, and splendid and tasty specimens of porcini and ceps. In this way, the local excellences arrive at the table for an intimate and intense tasting experience. There are also options for vegetarians and those with food intolerances.

Hotel restaurant Le Macine di Vittorio Veneto

Cradled by the murmur of water in an oasis of relaxation and tranquility: in the heart of an island on the Meschio river, stands the hotel restaurant Le Macine in Vittorio Veneto (TV), managed by brothers Giuseppe and Adriano Casagrande. During the summer period, try the experience of dining in the enchanting outdoor garden immersed in a romantic and special atmosphere. Chef Adriano Casagrande’s cuisine is made of highly selected raw materials, partly supplied by local producers respecting the zero km philosophy such as meat, some vegetables and, in season, mushrooms, bruscandoli and “sciopetin,” while the spices are freshly picked from the garden. Pasta and bread are strictly homemade. Pastry is also produced in the restaurant’s kitchen, offering guests exquisite sweets.

Le Manzane Farm of San Pietro di Feletto

Visiting the cellars is the best way to learn the history of this corner of paradise. The farm Le Manzane of San Pietro di Feletto has recently opened a suggestive and modern cellar embedded, like a jewel, inside a hill to naturally preserve its wines. It is possible to take part in a guided tour with a tasting of three types of products accompanied by bread/Bibanesi or similar, cold cuts, and local cheeses at a cost of 9.00 euros per person for a minimum of 10 participants. Managed with passion and determination by Ernesto Balbinot, both manager and winemaker, the farm cultivates, besides Glera, also native grape varieties of the Marca Trevigiana such as Verdiso and Manzoni Bianco, and vinifies red grapes creating interesting wines like Cabernet and Kaberlò.
