Conegliano
A walk in Contrada Granda, in the center of Conegliano, is recommended. The small town is known in Italy and around the world for the fame given to it by its great painter Gian Battista Cima (1459-1518), for the first Enological School established in Italy (1876), and especially for Prosecco Docg. A curiosity. In 1574, upon the passage of Henry III King of Poland, who was going to Paris to be crowned King of France, the community of Conegliano caused the white wine from the hills to flow for a whole day from the Neptune fountain, a tradition that has been repeated on important occasions. The book “Conegliano con il gusto in bocca e gli occhi all’insù,” published by Club Magnar Ben, collects anecdotes and enogastronomic curiosities of this authentic Venetian gem for a journey into the taste and history of the “Urbs Picta,” the painted city.

Ristorante Al Capitello di Tarzo
The ideal place to enjoy the authentic flavors of Venetian cuisine is the Ristorante Al Capitello di Tarzo, professionally managed by Tiziano Poloni and his wife Fiorella. Set in the evocative setting of an ancient “canevon” (cellar), the venue is a charming green corner with its outdoor garden where you can spend pleasant moments enlivened by the fresh air of the hills of the Alta Marca Trevigiana. Near the small stream, you can still breathe the atmosphere of the characteristic rural courtyard. The managers are both passionate gatherers of wild herbs and mushrooms and love to entertain their guests with tales of their latest collection of honey mushrooms, russulas, saffron milk caps, golden hedgehogs, and splendid and tasty specimens of porcini and boletus. In this way, the area’s excellences arrive on the table for an intimate and intense tasting experience. There are also options for vegetarians and for those with food intolerances.

Le Manzane Farm of San Pietro di Feletto
Visiting the cellars is the best way to learn the history of this corner of paradise. The farm Le Manzane of San Pietro di Feletto has recently inaugurated a suggestive and modern cellar embedded, like a jewel, inside a hill to naturally preserve its wines. It is possible to participate in a guided tour with a tasting of three types of products accompanied by bread/Bibanesi or similar, local cold cuts and cheeses at the cost of 9.00 euros per person for a minimum of 10 participants.
