We are indeed on the Riviera dei Cedri, where honey and citron jams, fragrantly scented cookies and sweets, liqueurs, granitas, and drinks made from this virtuous citrus fruit are a must. The Chili Pepper Festival is also enriched by shows, exhibitions, culinary workshops, debates, and round tables. And it’s an opportunity to discover the beauties of Diamante, starting with the evocative murals that adorn alleys and squares, making them unique (the town belongs to the Painted Towns association); the remains of the Carafa castle and the Church of the Immaculate. Delightful is also Cirella, a hamlet, with the ruins of the ancient village, the bathing area, and the island of the same name.

Every year, in the first half of September, the magnificent Calabrian village of Diamante, perched on the cliffs of the Riviera dei Cedri, hosts the Chili Pepper Festival, a sparkling and spicy event organized by the local Chili Pepper Academy, which has studied its history (it arrived in Italy with Christopher Columbus) and traditions for years.
