The Casino Nobile, which is in itself a “Museum” from an architectural and decorative point of view, houses a small but valuable museum dedicated to the findings from the Villa and originating from the very rich sculptural collection of the Torlonia family – today mostly still owned by the family and preserved in the Palazzo di via della Lungara – along with some accidental discoveries, which have allowed to add another piece to the history of the Villa.

What is exhibited gives us a clear idea of how the Torlonia family, especially Giovanni (1756-1829) and his son Alessandro (1800-1880), managed, for almost a century, to be the undisputed protagonists of that collecting tradition which dates back at least to the 15th century, when the residences of the illustrious Roman families began to be enriched with precious furnishings.

The museum route is completed by the reconstruction of Giovanni Torlonia’s bedroom (1872-1938), with the furniture later used by Benito Mussolini during his stay in the Villa itself, from 1925 to 1943.
