The museum displays an interesting collection of historical, artistic, and archaeological items, illustrating the history of the castle as the historical residence of the Counts of Gorizia, from the city’s origins to the 18th century. Also very interesting is the educational section made up of models, 1:1 scale philological reproductions of war machines, white weapons (from 1271 to 1500), and medieval musical instruments.
