Above Sluderno in the Vinschgau Valley, between the Resia Pass and Merano, stands Coira Castle, one of the grandest and best-preserved castles in South Tyrol, featuring the largest private armory and a splendid loggia.
The armory of Coira Castle is internationally renowned. It is the largest private collection of its kind, with over 50 suits of armor belonging to the Lords of the Castle, custom-made by the most famous artisans of the era.
The magnificent loggia is the artistic centerpiece of Coira Castle. Beyond the marble columns and the Renaissance vault, this stunning work of art displays murals that originally recall the world of fairy tales and the history of the counts.
