Sopra Sluderno in Val Venosta, between the Resia Pass and Merano, stands Castel Coira, one of the most grand and best-preserved castles in South Tyrol, with the largest private armory and a splendid loggia.
Internationally renowned is the armory of Castel Coira. It is the largest private collection of its kind with over 50 suits of armor of the Lords of the Castle, custom-made by the most famous craftsmen of the era.
The splendid loggia is the artistic centerpiece of Castel Coira. Besides the marble columns and the Renaissance vault, this magnificent work of art shows frescoes that originally recall the world of fairy tales and the history of the counts.
