Rodolfo Siviero, known for having directed for many years the “Delegation for the Recovery of Artworks” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and for having brought back to Italy hundreds of masterpieces lost during the last world war, left at his death in 1983 his residence with all the artworks and furnishings contained therein to the Tuscany Region, with the condition of dedicating the property as a museum open to the public.
Currently, the apartment on the ground floor of the villa is open to visitors. In the coming years, renovation work will be carried out to open the entire house to the public.
