Rodolfo Siviero, known for having directed for many years the “Delegation for the recovery of works of art” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and for having brought back to Italy hundreds of masterpieces lost during the last world war, left upon his death in 1983 his home with all the works and furnishings contained in it to the Tuscany Region, with the obligation to use the property as a museum open to the public.
Currently, the apartment on the ground floor of the building is open to visitors. In the coming years, work will be carried out to bring the entire house up to standard and open it to the public.
