Maison Bruil di Introd is one of the major examples of rural architecture in the Gran Paradiso.
It is characterized as an ancient rural house with concentrated functions: all the spaces necessary for the survival of people and animals were indeed grouped under a single roof.
The current form is the result of a complex architectural evolution dating from between 1680 and 1856, a period in which several building units merged to form a single core.
The visit unfolds over three floors among the various typical environments of the traditional house, restored to their original function. The “crotta“, the natural icehouse, the “crotteun“, the “peillo“, the drying areas, and the attic are some of the spaces available to the public who want to deepen their knowledge of traditional architecture.
At Maison Bruil there is a special space reserved for local products: the Atelier du Goût.
It is a showcase where you can discover the territory and its products in a concrete and conscious way; through presentations of products and tastings, the techniques and cultural context in which a food product or wine is born are highlighted.
The Atelier du Goût is the space that provides an answer to the growing demand for attention to issues related to food and quality agri-food products; this happens thanks to the use of the sensory sphere as a tool of knowledge, with a direct approach to shapes, smells, tastes, and with a personal interaction with winemakers, cheesemakers, farmers, the true protagonists of the specificity of the products presented.
