In recent decades, Genoa has strongly rediscovered its vocation for tourism, offering, also on the hospitality front, renovated and upgraded facilities, new hotels, and a network of B&B, guesthouses, boarding houses…to rival any European capital.
In beautiful Genoa, rich with palaces, churches, theaters, and historic gardens, tourists can freely choose from a wide range of accommodations: from starred hotels that best interpret the city’s maritime spirit, to simpler B&Bs (many of which are housed in historic palaces and charming noble residences), where the service is attentive and careful, making them excellent bases to visit the historic center and main attractions.
But beyond Genoa, the entire Liguria region is a small mecca of hospitality; one of the first Italian regions to face mass tourism, thanks to its border location with France and, naturally, because of the sea, the coast, and the enchanting hinterland. For many decades, the Ligurian coast has been, especially for northwestern Italians, synonymous with beach holidays, second homes, and a weekend getaway destination.
