Built in the early twentieth century when the beach was further inland, the Punta Tagliamento Lighthouse features a 21-meter cylindrical tower, visible up to about 15 miles off the coast. Due to coastal erosion, breakwater embankments have been constructed around the lighthouse. During World War I, the lighthouse was bombed but was promptly rebuilt.
