The Civic Museum of Albano is housed in the prestigious neoclassical style villa of the Ferrajoli Marquises, which still preserves the painted decoration executed by Caretti in the early nineteenth century in many rooms.
The archaeological collections of the Museum cover a time span from the Lower Paleolithic to the Renaissance.
The oldest evidence consists of lithic industries from the stilt village of Macine, submerged in the waters of Lake Albano, which archaeologically documents the human presence in ancient Lazio during the Middle Bronze Age 1 (18th-16th centuries BC).
