The Center is located in Perugia, immediately adjacent to the Etruscan Arch and Piazza Grimana, where the University for Foreigners is based.
POST is the reference point in Umbria for exploring the world of scientific culture, housed in pleasant and lively exhibition spaces where visitors of all ages can engage with the methods and objects of science. An expert team in science education provides constant support during the visit, aiming to inspire passion and facilitate understanding of scientific subjects.
Opened in 2003, it is divided into three main sections. The first (Exhibit Area) hosts 17 interactive installations. Here, visitors can personally experience certain natural phenomena (sound, light, color, and many other wave-related phenomena) and participate in experiences related to auditory and optical illusions. Another section (Image Gallery) is dedicated to temporary exhibitions on highly topical themes so that both adults and children can stay informed about the latest frontiers of science through interactive displays, in-depth texts, and spectacular images. Finally, the educational classroom offers deeper exploration of various points illustrated in the other sections, to be completed independently with work kits and tools at hand.
