Housed on the noble floor of Palazzo della Corgna, in the center of Città della Pieve, the museum consists of collections of mineral samples, rocks, fossils, plant and animal specimens, and scientific instruments. These are mainly the result of the work of geologist Antonio Verri (1839 – 1925) and agronomist Paolo De Simone (1859 – 1906), who operated in the Pieve area between the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Remarkable is the presence of natural history specimens from Arabia.
The museum is part of a museum circuit that follows a city route including the Oratory of Santa Maria dei Bianchi, Palazzo della Corgna, the Diocesan Civic Museum of Santa Maria dei Servi, the cathedral, the church of San Pietro, and the Oratory of San Bartolomeo.
