“Inspired by the concepts of Lamberto Loira, founder of the Institute of Ethnoanthropology of Rome, the Tancredi museum originated from the collections that Giovanni Tancredi, inspired by Montessori teaching methods, used for the teaching at the Institute of the Children’s House, an educational establishment, which was located in the halls of the San Francesco monastery, which today houses the museum. The collections, together with the Tancredi photo archive, were reorganized into an exhibition set up in some rooms of the municipal administration, with the first arrangement by Cafiero G., while a broader and more extensive vision of the museum was realized by Giovanni Battista Bronzini. In the last 15 years, the museum has been managed by the cooperative Ecogargani scarl, which has taken care of management, maintenance, public assistance, and educational services, while the collections have been the subject of various studies, probably reaching their peak with the photo archive collection G. Tancredi.”
