“Ispired by the concepts of Lamberto Loira, founder of the Institute of Ethnoanthropology of Rome, the Tancredi museum was born from the collections that Giovanni Tancredi, inspired by Montessori teaching methods, used for the teaching of the Children’s House institute, a formative work, and which was located in the rooms of the San Francesco monastery, which today houses the museum. The collections, together with the Tancredi photo library, were reorganized into an exhibition set up in some premises of the municipal administration, seeing the first arrangement by Cafiero G., while a broader and more comprehensive vision of the museum was realized by Giovanni Battista Bronzini. In the last 15 years the museum has been managed by the cooperative Ecogargani scarl, which took care of management, maintenance, public assistance, and educational services, while the collections have been the subject of various studies, which perhaps find their point of excellence in the G. Tancredi photo library collection.”
