The Congregation was founded in 1685. Its purposes were religious (worship, spiritual assistance, prayers after death), but mainly welfare-related, especially during illnesses, during which the sick brother was given a subsidy. In 1818 the Congregation obtained from the King of Naples Ferdinand I the Church of the monastery of San Michele, which Sister Serafina had established in 1683. Worldwide famous are the images of the floor of the Monumental Church of San Michele and its details.
