It is a magical place, where the ancient disputes between the papacy and the empire first, and later between Bologna and Modena, still echo. It is set in a suggestive natural environment, with the dense woods of Monte Morello, the ravines of the San Teodoro stream, Rio Paraviere, Africa, and Pan Perso, and the orderly geometries of orchards and vineyards. A well-equipped nature trail, accessible to people with disabilities and the visually impaired, allows visitors to fully savor its beauty.
Monteveglio Abbey Regional Park
It is the smallest natural park in Emilia Romagna and has its beating heart in the delightful medieval village with the 14th-century tower (now home to the Visitor Center), which also houses the Abbey of Santa Maria, one of the oldest parish churches in northern Italy.
