The Diocesan Museum of Ugento – S. M. di Leuca, strongly desired by the Bishop of the Diocese Mons. Vito De Grisantis, was inaugurated on July 6, 2005 and is set up in a building located beneath the Cathedral, which once served as a burial place for the clergy and the townspeople. Today, the structure has been returned to the public after a long and careful restoration and repair intervention, enhancing the entire architectural aspect. The museum displays works from the Cathedral as well as those from the churches of the Diocese.
