Il museo diocesano di Ugento – S. M. di Leuca, strongly desired by the Bishop of the Diocese Mons. Vito De Grisantis, was inaugurated on July 6, 2005, and is set up in a building located in the lower part of the Cathedral, which once served as a burial place for the clergy and the citizens. Today the structure has been returned to the public after a long and careful restoration and repair work enhancing the entire architectural aspect. In the museum, works from the Cathedral are exhibited along with those from the churches of the Diocese.
