Il museo diocesano di Ugento – S. M. di Leuca, strongly desired by the Bishop of the Diocese Mons. Vito De Grisantis, was inaugurated on July 6, 2005, and is arranged in a building located in the lower part of the Cathedral, which once served as a burial place for the clergy and the citizens. Today the structure has been returned to the public after a long and careful restoration and repair work, enhancing all the architectural aspects. In the museum, works coming from the Cathedral are exhibited, along with those coming from the churches of the Diocese.
