The Civic Museum of Crotone is located inside the Aiutante Tower of the Castle of Charles V and is divided into six sections, arranged according to a chronological thematic criterion: the Heraldry section includes a series of coats of arms belonging to the most prestigious families of the city; the Disappeared Hamlets section displays artifacts from various eras, ceramic fragments and coins found in some hamlets of the territory that no longer exist; the Prints and Photos section covers the period from the late 19th century to 1950; the Medieval Costume section features as many as 52 outfits; the Armoury section has a collection of white weapons from the 18th and 19th centuries and a collection of weapons found in the territory of Crotone, as well as bronze naval artillery pieces; finally, the Terracotta and Ceramics section gathers ceramic fragments found during the restoration works of residential buildings in the historic center, but also others from Grottaglie and Cerreto Sannita, and remains of 18th-century floor tiles from Vietri and Caltagirone.
