Il Museo Civico di Crotone is located inside the Torre Aiutante of the Castello di Carlo V and is divided into six sections, according to a thematic chronological criterion: the Heraldic section includes a series of coats of arms belonging to the most prestigious families of the city; the Lost Hamlets section displays artifacts from various eras, ceramic fragments, and coins found in some no longer existing hamlets of the area; the prints and photos section covers the period from the late nineteenth century to 1950; the medieval costume section has as many as 52 outfits; the Armory section contains a collection of white weapons from the 18th and 19th centuries and a collection of weapons found in the territory of Crotone, as well as pieces of bronze naval artillery; the Terracotta and Ceramics section, finally, gathers ceramic fragments discovered during the restoration works of residential buildings in the historic center, but also others coming from Grottaglie and Cerreto Sannita, and remains of 18th century floor tiles from Vietri and Caltagirone.
