Il Museo Civico di Crotone is located inside the Torre Aiutante of the Castello di Carlo V and is divided into six sections, according to a chronological thematic criterion: the Heraldry section, includes a series of coats of arms belonging to the most prestigious families of the city; the Disappeared Farmsteads section, displays artifacts from various eras, ceramic fragments and coins found in some farmsteads of the territory that no longer exist; the section of prints and photos from the period between the late nineteenth century and 1950; the Medieval costume section which has as many as 52 outfits; the Armory section has a collection of white weapons from the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries and a collection of weapons found in the territory of Crotone, as well as bronze naval artillery pieces; the Terracotta and Ceramics section, finally, brings together ceramic fragments found during the restoration work of residential buildings in the historic center, but also others from Grottaglie and Cerreto Sannita and remains of ‘700 floor tiles from Vietri and Caltagirone.
