“Sculptors in Brufa,” an open-air sculpture park, was conceived in 1987 by inviting one sculptor each year to exhibit their works along the streets overlooking the vineyards and small squares of the village, acquiring a piece created especially for the town.
Brufa, whose hills host the vineyards of the prestigious Torgiano wine production; overlooks the Tiber plain and the plains of Assisi up to Foligno. It is part of the Torgiano – Brufa – Miralduolo – Torgiano ridge, where “The Wine and Art Road” develops. In this landscape, large sculptures by contemporary artists (Pierucci, Sforna, Pizzoni, Miniucchi, Giuman, De Felice, Liberatore, Caruso, Sguanci, Mastroianni, Carroli, Lorenzetti, Roca-Rey, Carrino, Giuliani, Marotta, Mattiacci, Staccioli, Trubbiani, Cascella, Magnoni, Brook, Corsucci) have been placed, commissioned by the Brufa Pro Loco, the Municipality of Torgiano, and the Province of Perugia to create visual focal points.
