Birthplace of Salvatore Quasimodo, where the poet, awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature on December 10, 1959, was born on August 20, 1901. The house is open to visitors. It contains, besides a wrought iron bed, other furniture and furnishings from the early twentieth century; also present are the furniture from his Milan study and an old Olivetti typewriter, donated to the house-museum by his son Alessandro in 1996. Visitors can listen to the Poet’s voice recorded on an old tape during the Nobel award ceremony in Stockholm
