Birthplace of Salvatore Quasimodo, where the poet, awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature on December 10, 1959, was born on August 20, 1901. The house is open to visitors. It contains, in addition to a wrought iron bed, other furniture and furnishings from the early twentieth century; moreover, there are the furniture from the Milan study and an old Olivetti typewriter, which his son Alessandro donated to the house-museum in 1996. From an old tape, visitors can listen to the Poet’s voice recorded during the Nobel award ceremony in Stockholm
