Surrounded by a holm oak forest, on the border between Barbagia and Ogliastra, the Sa Carcaredda complex includes a nuragic building dedicated to worship, a large village, and four giant tombs. The religiosity of the nuragic people is illustrated by monuments that refer to the cult of ancestors and rituals linked to the deity of waters.
The extraordinary finds discovered inside the circular temple highlight the cultic and commercial centrality that mountain sites held during the Bronze Age in Sardinia.
