La mobility of the Ravenna Planetarium instruments allows the sky to be shown at any latitude. The apparent movements of the celestial vault and the succession of day and night are also represented at an accelerated speed. A floor model illustrates the solar system with the zodiac belt.
The simulation of meteor showers, the view of the planet Jupiter with its four Galilean moons, and the depiction of a rotating galaxy are particularly impressive. On the dome, the most important reference elements of astronomical geography and graduated scales for calculating astronomical coordinates are projected. On the southeast wall of the planetarium, an impressive sundial was created by the gnomonist Mario Arnaldi. The planetarium terrace is periodically used for public observations.
