Il Museo Etnografico Regionale Pugliese 1600/1900 is housed in a building located next to the Sanctuary of San Cosimo alla Macchia, about 5 km from the town of Oria. The building features a large entrance where the artifacts are displayed and three spacious exhibition halls arranged on two floors housing the three sections of the Museum: “Peasant World, Social Life and Disappeared Trades,” with photos, furnishings, environment reconstructions, and a vast collection of newspapers and vintage magazines. The Museum, inaugurated in 2007, was born from the love for his land by Mr. Gerardo Andriulo, who dedicated about 40 years of his life to collecting the artifacts. Accredited as the largest in the South, with over 5000 pieces, it is among the richest in Italy.
