Il Museo Etnografico Regionale Pugliese 1600/1900 is housed in a building located next to the Sanctuary of San Cosimo alla Macchia, about 5 km from the town of Oria. The building features a large entrance where the artifacts are displayed and three spacious exhibition halls arranged over two floors where the three sections of the Museum are housed: “Peasant World, Social Life and Disappeared Trades,” with photos, furnishings, reconstructions of environments, and a vast collection of vintage newspapers and magazines. The Museum, inaugurated in 2007, was born out of Mr. Gerardo Andriulo’s love for his land, who dedicated about 40 years of his life to collecting the artifacts. Accredited as the largest in the South, with over 5000 pieces, it is among the richest in Italy.
