La artisanal confectionery of the Mucci family located in the historic center of Andria, at Via Giammarota 12, undoubtedly encompasses a century of prestigious activity marked by recognitions and honors. An activity that began back in 1894 with Nicola Mucci. Indeed, after an apprenticeship lasting five years at the Caflish chocolate factory in Naples, he decided to open a factory of confetti, chocolate, candies, and liqueurs near the Cathedral in Andria. The confectionery art was perfected with the creation of the “Mandorla Imperial” for the wedding of Umberto of Savoy with Maria José and the invention of the famous “Tenerelli,” soft confetti covered by a double layer of chocolate. Today, the old shop has set up inside a museum composed of four rooms that exhibit to the public documents, tools, equipment, and molds for confectionery production of over a century of prestigious activity.
