The complex of the Superga Basilica, an 18th-century architectural jewel designed by Filippo Juvarra, has been a landmark for the people of Turin and tourists from all over Italy and abroad for nearly three centuries. A spiral staircase allows those wishing to enjoy a unique view of the city of Turin and the Alpine arc to climb to the Basilica’s Dome, a striking vantage point over the surrounding Piedmont territory.
In the Basilica’s underground, visitors can explore the Royal Tombs of the House of Savoy, a precious mausoleum preserving memories and sculptural artworks by artists active at the Savoy court between the mid-1700s and the late 1800s. Moreover, in the wings of the convent adjacent to the church, you can admire the rooms of the Royal Apartment and the King’s Hall. These are five furnished rooms that hosted the Savoy during brief hilltop stays on the occasion of annual celebrations.
Special opening during the Christmas period from December 25 to January 6 (same hours)
