Located in Palazzo Majo, a restored Renaissance building inaugurated in 1997, the Museum displays numerous artifacts found in nearby Selinunte, such as bronzes and ceramics. Among the most valuable works are a beautiful red-figure crater depicting Sileni; the bronze Ephebe representing a “Kouros” by an unknown author dating back to 480-470 BC; the lead sheet called “lex sacra” containing rules and prescriptions on sacred rites. Finally, the Museum exhibits a Madonna with Child in alabaster from the workshop of Francesco Laurana (1468).
