The Museum houses a substantial heritage consisting of ethnographic collections (carts, boat models, material culture) and naturalistic collections (paleontological, malacological, entomological, ornithological, and mammal specimens) acquired long ago by the Regional State Property, as well as marine and terrestrial archaeological finds discovered during excavation campaigns in the area. It is therefore a multidisciplinary Museum divided into three technical sections: Archaeological, Ethnoanthropological, Naturalistic, the latter including a geopalentological sector.
