Large viewpoint overlooking Bologna, the complex of San Michele in Bosco, now home to the Rizzoli Orthopaedic Institute, dominates the city below like an ancient lord dominating his castle. Since 2007, the Cassa di Risparmio Foundation in Bologna has managed its monumental parts.
The church, the crypt, the octagonal cloister, the library, the Putti Studio, and the Vasari Hall have thus become part of the Genus Bononiae pathway. Museums in the City.
Notes: The church (piazzale di San Michele in Bosco) is open to the public every day from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The library (via Pupilli 1) is open Monday and Tuesday from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM; Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM; Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (closed the last Saturday of the month). The Putti Studio (via Pupilli 1), instead, is visitable by appointment only.
