Grande lookout overlooking Bologna, the San Michele in Bosco complex, now home to the Rizzoli Orthopedic Institute, dominates the city below like an ancient lord dominates his castle. Since 2007, the Cassa di Risparmio in Bologna Foundation has managed its monumental parts.
The church, the crypt, the octagonal cloister, the library, the Putti Studio, and the Vasari Room have thus become part of the Genus Bononiae path. Museums in the City.
Note: The church (Piazzale di San Michele in Bosco) is open to the public every day, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The library (Via Pupilli 1) is open Monday and Tuesday from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM; Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 9:30 AM to 3:00 PM; Saturday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM (closed the last Saturday of the month). The Putti Studio (Via Pupilli 1), instead, is visitable by appointment only.
