La Casa Museo is located on the first floor of the birthplace of Renato Serra (1884-1915) and is the headquarters of the Renato Serra Foundation, a non-profit cultural organization established in Cesena in 2005.
The museum was created and funded by the Municipality of Cesena with the support of the Banca di Cesena and hosts, in addition to Serra memorabilia and original furnishings from the period, some works by artists from Cesena, Romagna, and Italy among the most significant of the 19th and 20th centuries: Anselmo Gianfanti, Vittorio Matteo Corcos, Paolo Grilli, Fortunato Teodorani, Gino Barbieri, Augusto Casalboni, Caterina Baratelli, Giannetto Malmerendi, Leonardo Castellani.
Renato Serra is authoritatively considered by today’s critics a paradigm of our modernity. The Casa Museo is a place of memory and imagination, and represents in its nuances the modern face of the city of Cesena.
