The Natural History Museum of Foggia, inaugurated on April 18, 1996, preserves naturalistic artifacts and disseminates knowledge about flora, fauna, and ecosystems. Since June 2002, it has been housed inside the building, former Marconi High School of Foggia. The care of the museum’s scientific and educational activities, as well as its ordinary management, is entrusted to Società Diomede srl, which provides support and scientific supervision especially for the projects Atlas of Amphibians and Reptiles, Gargano Roe Deer, and the Museum’s editorial activities. The Museum has a teaching room: equipped with laboratory tables, microscopes with cameras, multimedia computers, electronic scales, and other scientific instruments, it allows students, under the guidance of a Museum operator, to experience the work of a naturalist, for example by engaging in the classification of animal remains dating back millions of years.
