The upper part of Val di Rabbi and a portion of Val di Peio make up the Trentino sector of Stelvio National Park, one of the largest protected areas in Italy. With the establishment of the Consortium in 1993 and the organization into three management committees (Trentino, Lombardy, and South Tyrol sectors), the Park Authority became fully operational, ensuring not only the protection of the natural environment and biodiversity but also promoting the socio-economic development of the territories. The Rabbi and Peio Visitor Centers have been operating for some time, while the new Park headquarters in Cógolo have opened in recent years and the wildlife area in Peio Fonti is visitable. Other information and exhibition points have recently been inaugurated at Malga Stablét in Val di Rabbi and Malga Talè in Val di Peio, featuring the first 3D HD setup in Italy.
