The upper part of the Val di Rabbi and a portion of the Val di Peio constitute the Trentino sector of the Stelvio National Park, one of the largest protected areas in Italy. With the establishment in 1993 of the Consortium and the organization into three management committees (Trentino, Lombard, and South Tyrolean sectors), the Park Authority became fully operational, ensuring not only the protection of the natural environment and biodiversity but also promoting the socio-economic development of the territories. The Visitor Centers of Rabbi and Peio have long been in operation, while in recent years the new Park headquarters in Cógolo has opened and the wildlife area in Peio Fonti is visitable. Other information and exhibition points have recently been inaugurated at Malga Stablét in Val di Rabbi and at Malga Talè in Val di Peio, featuring the first HD 3D setup in Italy.
