On April 29 and 30, for example, the Queen’s Birthday is celebrated with stalls and street artist performances that light up iconic spots in the historic center of the capital, such as the Dam. From August 15 to 23, the romantic Canal Festival, the Grachtenfestival, takes place with a rich lineup of classical music concerts, held by both established musicians and promising young talents against the backdrop of particularly charming corners and venues. In October, it’s the turn of the Amsterdam Dance Festival, the most important international event dedicated to dance and electronic music, featuring over 700 shows in about fifty different locations.
