On April 29 and 30, for example, the Queen’s Birthday is celebrated, with stalls and street performances that light up the symbolic places of the historic center of the capital, such as and the Dam. From August 15 to 23, instead, the romantic Festival of Canals, the Grachtenfestival, takes place, with a rich program of classical music concerts, performed both by established musicians and young talents, against the backdrop of particularly suggestive corners and locations. In October, it is the turn of the Amsterdam Dance Festival, the most important international event dedicated to dance and electronic music, with more than 700 shows in about fifty different venues.
