National Events and Festivals in the Netherlands

On April 29 and 30, for example, the Queen’s Birthday is celebrated, with stalls and street performers lighting up iconic places in the historic center of the capital, such as and the Dam. From August 15 to 23, the romantic Festival of Canals, the Grachtenfestival, takes place, with a rich program of classical music concerts, performed by both established musicians and young talents, against the backdrop of particularly charming corners and locations. In October, it is time for the Amsterdam Dance Festival, the most important international event dedicated to dance and electronic music, with more than 700 performances in about fifty different venues.
