The Museum of Peasant Civilization of Pisticci, also known as the Museum of Peasant Civilization of Pisticci and Lucania, opened in 1990, houses a large collection of materials linked to the forty-year collecting activity of its curator, Giuseppe Quinto, who since 1958 has progressively expanded his assortment of objects. The exhibition, arranged by Quinto himself in small rooms and in an adjacent outdoor area owned by the collector, displays items primarily from the Pisticci area. The documented themes concern fieldwork, woodworking, clay processing, forging, and iron craftsmanship. The collection also includes agricultural and domestic utensils. The objects, arranged by their type of use or by their construction material, have never undergone cataloging procedures.
