The archaeological area includes the acropolis of the city of Herakleia, founded in 433/32 BC, and the urban sanctuaries.
The orthogonal urban plan is partially visible, along whose axes are arranged the residential units consisting of living spaces and production units organized around an open central courtyard. In the late Hellenistic period, the peristyle house model is present.
The sacred areas are dedicated to the worship of Dionysus (the foundations of the temple and the adjacent agora with the altar are visible) and Demeter (spread over two terraces)
