L’archaeological area includes the acropolis of the city of Herakleia, founded in 433/32 BC, and the urban sanctuaries.
The orthogonal urban layout is partially exposed, with residential units and productive units arranged along its axes around a central open courtyard. In the late Hellenistic period, the peristyle house model is present.
The sacred areas are dedicated to the worship of Dionysus (the temple foundations and the adjoining agora with the altar are visible) and Demeter (structured on two terraces)
